State Farm Tennis Jamboree Turns 5

The Becky Moore State Farm Junior Tennis Jamboree had a birthday. On May 31, 2012, the annual event celebrated its fifth birthday. Thanks to Becky Moore and her family for her continued financial support for this annual event. Without question, you are making a difference in the lives of our Mitchell tennis boys and girls, and the Mitchell Tennis Association can't thank you enough.

USTA's Dummermuth Energizes Junior Tennis

Chris Dummermuth, a South Dakota tennis service representative for the United States Tennis Association, has energized juniors and tennis communities statewide by teaching USTA's "10 and Under Tennis" initiative. On May 30, 2012, Dummermuth traveled to Mitchell to host a "10 and Under Tennis" workshop for 23 participants. The Mitchell tennis community owes Wayne & Mary Puetz (and their family) a special thanks for opening up the Puetz Indoor Tennis Court to juniors and adults in January and February for tournaments. Twelve 6-9 grade juniors signed up to play singles and doubles, while eight adult doubles teams battled for a championship. Without the generosity of the Puetz family, our kids wouldn't keep improving, and our adults wouldn't have opportunities...

Another year is upon us. As the new year approaches, turn on your computer and type in some goals for the 2010 tennis season. After you have set your goals, figure out what you need to do to obtain those goals. Be specific. Often times, the player who sets goals and works hard to obtain these goals is the one who is successful. Have a plan and stick to it.
